Residents’ efforts have landed Blue Ash in the top spot for recycling in the region once again.

With a 67 percent diversion rate, Blue Ash won the 2020 Best City Waste Diversion Rate Award from the Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District.

This is the highest diversion rate of any community in all of Hamilton County.

“The City is grateful for the residents who are on board with recycling citywide,” said Public Works Director Gordon Perry. “This is the second year in a row the City has been number one and we couldn’t do it without the residents’ efforts.”

Robust yard trimmings collection options helped the community divert a staggering 7,935 tons of yard trimmings away from landfills in 2019.

In addition to recycling programs, the City of Blue Ash has several energy-efficiency and sustainability projects to mitigate environmental impacts. Read more about them here.
