Blue Ash Firefighter/EMTs received a certificate and treats from Jewish Hospital after recently carrying out a speedy response for a suspected stroke victim.

The responding crew, Gabe Landers (left), David Capannari (2nd from left), and Sam Mirizzi (3rd from left), were able to get the patient to the hospital for treatment in 38 minutes, which is crucial for those needing stroke care.

Every minute stroke treatment is delayed, up to 1.9 million neurons can be lost, according to Jewish Hospital.

The hospital’s EMS Coordinator Terri Haynes (right) presented the certificate to the crew yesterday at the North Fire Station.
