Blue Ash Police Chief Scott Noel spoke on the benefits of the Domestic Violence Enhanced Response Team (DVERT) at a news conference in Cincinnati today.

Hamilton County announced it has invested $1 million in a partnership with Women Helping Women to help expand DVERT services throughout the county.

“As one of the 20 jurisdictions currently partnering with DVERT, we have seen the importance of this program,” said Chief Noel. “This program has resulted in our department being more thorough and more efficient when it comes to domestic violence calls. We know that all police jurisdictions and all residents of this county will benefit from the collaboration between law enforcement and Women Helping Women and the DVERT advocates.” (Watch a video of his remarks on Twitter by clicking here.)

DVERT is a trauma-focused crisis response team that provides an on-call, on-scene response to domestic violence survivors to avert gender-based violence and to prevent children from growing up in violent homes.  DVERT™ provides on-scene safety planning, access to resources, empowerment, and engagement in ongoing support services.
