Blue Ash's Olympic Games connections
(August 9, 2021 - Blue Ash)
Blue Ash has some connections to the Tokyo Olympic Games!
Gold medalist Zach Apple was presented with a challenge coin from Blue Ash Police Chief Scott Noel this week.
Apple (pictured right) came back to town after the Tokyo Olympics and visited his cousin, Blue Ash Police Sergeant Jun Cho (pictured left), who gave him the coin.
Apple, a Trenton native and IU student, won gold in the 4x100-meter medley relay and the 4x100-meter freestyle relay at the games.
Also, one of the tennis coaches at the Blue Ash Recreation Center will be competing in the Tokyo Paralympics.
Emmy Kaiser is currently training in Alabama before leaving for the games which start on August 24, according to an article in the River City News.
Congratulations, Zach, and good luck, Emmy!
