The City of Blue Ash will be commemorating International Firefighters Day by lighting Summit Park and the Observation Tower in red on May 4 starting at 6:30 p.m.

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) asks organizations, businesses, and residents across the world to use red lighting as a way to say thank you to the world’s firefighters for all that they do to keep our communities safe.

International Firefighters Day was started to honor the lives of five firefighters killed in a wildfire in Victoria, Australia.

Summit Park and the Observation Tower were also lit in red lights (pictured above) for another NFFF event, Light the Night, in September of 2020. This year, Light the Night will take place from September 26 through October 3.
