(December 18, 2020 - Blue Ash)

As with many events this year, the Blue Ash Police Department’s 2nd Annual Heroes and Helpers event looked a bit different due to the ongoing pandemic.

Instead of shopping inside Target in Blue Ash with their Police and Fire Department Heroes, children were treated to a festive, socially distanced, drive-thru event where they received gift cards for holiday shopping and fun, family activities.

Twenty students total from Blue Ash Elementary, Maple Dale Elementary, and Greene Intermediate School were nominated to take part in this event.

“We are delighted to be able to hold this event again this year,” said Community Relations Officer Beth Roach. “It always feels good to give back to our local community and it is such a joy to see the smiles on the children’s faces.”

Heroes and Helpers is a partnership between Target and the Blue Ash Police Association, which is the BAPD officers’ nonprofit to provide for community needs.

Funding for the event is provided by Target and the Blue Ash Police Association.

Organizers wish to thank the Alleen Company for donating Nights of Lights at Sharon Woods gift cards, the Ison Family Restaurants for donating McDonald’s gift cards, and Chick-fil-A Blue Ash for donating gift cards.

Additional community partners include Estridge Deck and Patio and Junk King.
