No Shave November continues for Police and Fire
(December 4, 2020 - Blue Ash)
First responders in Blue Ash are donating more money to keep growing their facial hair beyond “No Shave November.”
Several Blue Ash Police Personnel have given more money to the Blue Ash Police Association and they will continue to grow beards through the end of December. The Blue Ash Police Association is a non-profit that helps fund community outreach offerings like scholarships, the purchase of toys for Heroes and Helpers, and more.
Blue Ash Fire Personnel met the goal of donating $1,000 to the Oscar Mike Foundation, which means Fire Chief Chris Theders and Fire Marshall Heath Waxman will continue to grow their facial hair until January 1.
“Each year we raise money during No Shave November for a cause. This year we decided to support Oscar Mike and all the wonderful things they do for veterans thru adaptive concepts,” said Fire Chief Chris Theders. The tribute is for one of our retired members who lost his son Scott "Scottie" Morrison who was KIA in Afghanistan in 2010.”
Oscar Mike is a military term for “On the Move.” The organization works to create adaptive sports for veterans with disabilities and sells apparel to help support its cause. It will be celebrating its 10th anniversary on Veterans Day in 2021.
