Virtual Veterans Day Event and Concert 11/11 at 10am on YouTube and web

(October 23, 2020 - Blue Ash)

The City of Blue Ash, the Blue Ash Veterans Day Committee, and the Blue Ash/Montgomery Symphony Orchestra (BAMSO) have teamed up to bring the community a virtual Veterans Day event.

“With the given situation regarding COVID-19, it was important to us to still find a way to honor the men and women who have served our nation,” said Blue Ash Parks and Recreation Director Brian Kruse. “We decided on a video tribute for Veterans Day. As a continued tradition, you will hear moving poems written and read by the students from EH Greene School, as well as a musical score you will never forget.”

The video will feature local Veterans both on stage as performers as well as through narrative voices telling the “Veteran Story.” BAMSO’s talented musicians will perform stirring renditions of the Armed Forces Medley, Victory at Sea, God Bless America, and other patriotic selections.

“Back in March, I fully expected that we would have put the virus behind us and life would have returned to normal and we could have moved on with our ceremony as in the past. Well, that has certainly not been the case,” said Rick Bryan, Blue Ash Veterans Day Committee Chair. “It will not be the ceremony we are used to, but I think it will be magnificent.”

The hour-long Veterans Day video will be presented on YouTube for a limited time from November 11 at 10:00 a.m. – November 13 at 10:00 a.m.

When the video goes live it will be posted on this page (above) on the BAMSO YouTube channel, the BAMSO website, bamso.org, and the City of Montgomery website, montgomeryohio.org.

Links will also be posted on Blue Ash, Montgomery, and BAMSO social media pages.
