Oakwood Park: ribbon-cutting and Council meeting on 6/11

(June 5, 2020 - Blue Ash)

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for June 11 at 6:30 p.m. for the newly renovated Oakwood Park in Blue Ash and immediately following the ceremony, the City Council Meeting will be held at the park’s new shelter.

The approximately $400,000 park improvement project, located at Oak Avenue and Idalia Avenue, includes a new community shelter and playground. The site also features an updated basketball court, new grills, new restroom facilities, and additional parking.

Funding for the renovation comes from BARI and the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.

“We are truly excited to present this park to the community,” said Blue Ash Parks and Recreation Director Brian Kruse. “Although it’s a unique time to dedicate a new park considering the limited availability of park features available through the state guidelines, it’s important to do so now so that when they can be made available, the community can take advantage and begin to enjoy them.”

Members of the public who wish to attend the ceremony and/or the Council Meeting should follow social distancing guidelines from the Ohio Department of Health and bring their own chairs. Hand sanitizer will be available on site. Park features will open as State orders allow.

In the case of inclement weather, the ribbon-cutting ceremony will be postponed and the Council Meeting will be held in Council Chambers located at 4343 Cooper Road. Click here to see the social distancing guidelines for meetings in Council Chambers.
