Councilmember announces resignation

Nikki Yasbeck Schwieter Council At Large

(May 15, 2020 - Blue Ash)

City of Blue Ash Councilmember Nikki Yasbeck-Schwieter has announced her resignation effective on June 1.

In a letter to fellow councilmembers and City Administrators, Yasbeck-Schwieter said the decision is due to a move outside of the City of Blue Ash.

“I appreciate and feel honored to have been given the opportunity to work with such a gifted team of people,” Yasbeck-Schwieter said in her resignation letter. “I will truly miss everyone.”

Mayor Marc Sirkin said Yasbeck-Schwieter has been an asset to Council.

“I was saddened to hear of her resignation. As a newly-elected Councilmember, she jumped right into her position and has been a great addition,” said Mayor Sirkin. “On behalf of myself and fellow councilmembers, we wish her all the best.”

Yasbeck-Schwieter is offering her assistance during the transition.

Council will make an appointment to fill the vacancy in June and the new representative will run for their seat in November of 2021 and again in November of 2023.
