Blue Ash Fire Department seeking donations of masks and gowns

(March 25, 2020 - Blue Ash)

As you have probably already heard, there is a shortage of critical gear for first responders on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Blue Ash Fire Department is among the entities across the country running short of personal protective equipment (PPE).

If you are a medical supply business, a doctor’s office, or other health care provider with extra N95 masks, surgical masks, and gowns, the Blue Ash Fire Department would be grateful for your donations.

“Our personnel are dedicated to serving the residents of Blue Ash. Any help with the needed personal protective equipment is greatly appreciated. Keeping our personnel protected helps us stay healthy and able to provide the high level of service we strive for,” said Blue Ash Fire Chief Chris Theders.

Several people in the community have offered to donate homemade masks, and the Fire Department is thankful for the generosity, but unfortunately, standards dictate that firefighters use new N95 masks, surgical-grade masks and gowns. However, please reach out to hospitals; many are accepting homemade masks at this time.

If you would like to donate new N95 masks, surgical masks and/or surgical gowns to the Blue Ash Fire Department please call 513-745-8533.
