Pedestrian improvements part of 2020 Blue Ash Paving Program

Pedestrian improvements are coming to major intersections in Blue Ash in 2020.

 A new crosswalk will be added along the south side of the Reed Hartman Highway and Glendale-Milford Road intersection.  In addition, a new sidewalk will be installed to connect Alliance Road to the new crosswalk at Reed Hartman Highway and Glendale-Milford Road.  This project will include crosswalk markings, pedestrian signals, new signage and ADA curb ramps.

In addition, a new crosswalk will be installed along the south side of the Reed Hartman Highway and Carver Road intersection.  This project will include crosswalk markings, pedestrian signals, new signage, and ADA curb ramps along with a sidewalk on the south side of Carver Road from Reed Hartman Highway to Alliance Road.

These improvements are part of the 2020 Paving Program in Blue Ash that will also include these additional projects:

  • Plainfield Road, Sycamore Trace, Heather Court, Ash Court, Locust Lane, Ashwood Drive, Alpine Avenue, Bellview Avenue, Cherry Street, Summit Avenue, Brittany Drive, Elizabeth Place, Cynthia Court, and Leadwell Lane: asphalt resurfacing, curb replacement, asphalt repairs, sidewalk repairs, and storm sewer repairs.
  • Kenwood Road between Creek Road and Cornell Road: installation of new Reflective    Pavement Markers.

Bids for the 2020 Paving Program were advertised in the Northeast Suburban Life on February 5 and publicly opened on February 20.

Barrett Paving Materials, Inc. was selected for the project after submitting the lowest bid of $1,231,582.

City Council granted approval to proceed with the contract at the February 28 City Council meeting.
