Mayor proclaims May 23rd Blue Ash Revitalization, Inc. Day

City of Blue Ash Mayor Tom Adamec issued a proclamation at city council recognizing May 23rd as “Blue Ash Revitalization, Inc. Day."

Blue Ash Revitalization, Inc. (BARI) is a non-profit formed in 1992 in partnership with the City of Blue Ash and the private sector.

BARI rehabilitated residences in Blue Ash, including acquiring blighted properties, demolition, remodeling, and construction.  Much of BARI’s work focused on the Hazelwood neighborhood.

BARI shifted focus in 2010 to charitable giving and in the process transferred several properties to The City of Blue Ash at no cost.  At the same time, it transferred its funds to the Greater Cincinnati Foundation to be held for a future project in Hazelwood.

Also at the May 23rd city council meeting, BARI representatives Dave Kirschsieper and Joe Schiesler presented a check to Mayor Adamec for over $411,000 from the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.

This grant will be used to fund the Oak Park renovation project, which is underway.

The project, expected to be completed in the fall of 2019, includes a new community shelter, playground, basketball court, and improved parking.
