Blue Ash City Council voted last night to approve a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) for the downtown business district.  The DORA applications still needs to be approved by the State of Ohio.

The DORA allows people to purchase alcoholic beverages from participating businesses and walk around with them within the DORA boundary. (Click here for the map).

The restaurants that serve alcohol and are within the boundary are Sleepy Bee, Catch-A-Fire Pizza, Mac’s, the Park Pour, Blue Ash Chili, Slatt’s, Silver Wok, and Bangkok Terrace. Other businesses within the boundary can opt-in to allow people to bring their drinks into their establishments.

The DORA furthers the City’s Comprehensive Plan to make the City “Alive after five” p.m. It is also an added amenity for residents and visitors, an economic benefit for businesses, and an incentive for restaurants to locate downtown.

The DORA will launch when Towne Square is reopened in late summer or early fall. It will operate from 10 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Sunday, following the same rules as the DORA at Summit Park
