2020 Project Updates

2020 Paving Program - Complete: The paving program consists of some new sidewalk, curb, catch basins, and the resurfacing of the roadways included within the project.  The following streets will be getting resurfaced this year as part of the Paving Program: Plainfield Road (from Old Plainfield to Cooper Road), Sycamore Trace Court, Ash Court, Heather Court, Locust Lane, Alpine Avenue, Summit Avenue,  Cherry Street, Belleview Avenue (between Blue Ash Road and Kenwood Road), Brittany Drive, Elizabeth Place, Cynthia Court, Leadwell Lane, and Ashwood Drive.  Crosswalks and ADA ramps will be added on Reed Hartman Highway at Carver Road and Glendale-Milford Road.

Reed Hartman Highway Lane Widening - Complete:  The project included extending the right turn drop lane on the east side of Reed Hartman Highway from the Kemper Connector to the south entrance of the Old P&G East Campus.  As well as install a new turn lane into the south entrance of the new Ensemble property.  The project incorporated all new traffic signals, and equipment for the intersection located at the Ensemble entrance.  New traffic equipment was installed for the intersections of Cornell Park Dr. & Reed Hartman Highway and Ashwood Drive & Reed Hartman Highway.  J.R. Jurgensen resurfaced Reed Hartman Highway from Cornell Road to the North Corporation Limit.  The project is nearly complete with final road striping and work for the traffic signals to be finalized by the end of July 2020.

Reed Hartman Highway Central System - Complete:  The project includes running fiber optic cable from the newly installed traffic cabinet at Glendale-Milford Road and Reed Hartman Highway intersection to I-275.  Along with updates to intersections within the project limits, this new fiber will allow the City of Blue Ash to continue to provide motorists with the most efficient traffic plan.  Allowing for the intersections to communicate with each other and help with moving traffic in and out of the City.  With most of the fiber already installed the project will be completed by early August 2020.

Osborne Boulevard & Reed Hartman Highway intersection Modification - Complete:  In order to provide a safer and more effective intersection, the City of Blue Ash will be updating the traffic equipment and removing the dual left turns on Reed Hartman Highway south and along Osborne Blvd. west.  Only one left turn lane will be installed on each, giving motorists on opposite sides a safer and more reliable line of sight.  The project will begin late Summer/early Fall.

Donjoy Footbridge - Complete:  The City of Blue Ash will be replacing the walking path from Donjoy Drive and up to the Ronald Reagan pedestrian bridge, stopping at the bridge abutment.  The project consists of a newly designed walkway that will be ADA compliant.

2020 Culvert Repairs - Complete:  This project consists of relining 452 FT of a 60” storm sewer pipe with a structural liner, that stretches from Kenwood Road to Towne Square Ave.
