On August 8, City Council approved Tumlin and Sons to begin work at the site at Oak Avenue and Idalia Avenue.
The approximately $400,000 park improvement project will include a new community shelter and playground. The site will also feature an updated basketball court, new grills, new restroom facilities, and additional parking.
The Oakwood Park project is expected to be completed in the coming months. A grand opening ceremony and celebration will be held at that time.
Funding for the renovation comes from BARI and the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.
Before approving the Oakwood Park plan, the City held four public information sessions, including two open houses. City Council also discussed the plan in open sessions.
