CLEANING AND SAFETY MEASURES

  • Hand sanitizer is available for use inside the Climbing Wall area.
  • Staff will be required to wear face coverings during their shift.
  • Individuals will be required to wear a face covering while not actively climbing. Individuals actively climbing are not required to wear a face covering.
  • Chalk is not permitted.
  • Middle auto-belay closed to climbers for social distancing purposes.
  • Regular sanitizing of auto-belays, ropes, chairs and other high touch surfaces will occur between sessions.
  • Additional sanitization measures will include the use of an environmentally safe anti-microbial product.  Unlike other sanitizing products, this product bonds with the surface it has been applied to and does not allow COVID-19 and other virus/bacteria to survive on that surface for extended periods of time. This will not replace our current daily sanitizing procedures, but will be an additional layer of safety that we plan to utilize in areas of the facility that experience high volumes of surface contact.

About the Blue Ash Climbing Wall
The climbing wall is a new amenity that was added during the renovation project of the Recreation Center in 2009. Custom designed and built by Rockwerx, a climbing wall construction company located in Barre, Massachusetts, the 1,400 sq. ft. wall features 5 top rope lanes, auto belays, and a bouldering area.

Our climbing wall is open to the public!
The climbing wall can also be booked for your group as a private rental. You do not have to be a member of the Recreation Center to use the wall, but you do have to come during "open climb" hours to climb. Members of the Recreation Center that have the Fitness Center module on their pass can boulder any time by accessing the wall through the Fitness Center (all age limits and fitness center orientation rules apply to use the climbing wall through the Fitness Center).

Open Climb
The climbing wall is open to the public - you do not have to be a member of the Recreation Center or live in Blue Ash to come and climb at our wall. Our rates are very reasonable as well... $5 for a day pass and that includes equipment! If you are already belay certified at another climbing gym, we will ask you to show us your skills before you start climbing with your partner. For general information on our climbing wall, click here.

Waivers
If you are planning to come to our climbing wall, every participant must sign a waiver. Anyone under the age of 18 must have one signed by their parent or guardian. To make things a little easier for you, print off a waiver and fill it out before you get here! Click here to download and print the waiver in the convenience of your own home.
