Blue Ash City Council Approves Mixed-Use Development Plans
Blue Ash City Council voted in January of 2018 to approve the final development plan for a mixed-use component and senior living community at the Neighborhoods at Summit Park, a 98-acre development on the former airport runway property.
The project will offer vibrant amenities. Retail, restaurants, office space and high-end apartments will be easily accessible, yet far enough away from Summit Park as to not disturb its perfect serenity. A luxury senior living community is also part of the design, offering more opportunities to stay in Blue Ash throughout all stages of life. The development will be another reason why the City of Blue Ash is the best place to live, work and play.
The Neighborhoods at Summit Park will provide appealing benefits for residents while also ensuring the City's sustainability into the future. According to the Urban Land Institute, communities with walkable amenities will attract up to 80% of the coming wave of households in the next decade. In fact, there is even a new term for brining urban luxuries to the suburbs - "surban." In line with this trend, the world's top corporations are moving to cities where employees can walk to work, to superior dining and shopping, and have a variety of housing options. Simple office parks are no longer sufficient in recruiting companies, and it is vital the City of Blue Ash embrace this trend to maintain its strong economic base.
