Scott Noel was sworn-in as Chief of Police for the Blue Ash Police Department on December 19.

Chief Noel joined the Blue Ash Police Department in 2002. Prior to serving as Chief, he worked as a patrol officer, field training officer, detective, undercover drug investigator, firearms supervisor, SWAT officer, patrol sergeant, and patrol lieutenant. Chief Noel has taught police officers on a local, state, regional, and national level in the topics of emergency vehicle operations and police pursuits, as well as tactical operations. He has more than 27 years of experience in law enforcement.

In addition to his extensive professional experience, Chief Noel has attended both the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati State College, where he continues to further his formal education. He graduated from the Police Executive Leadership College and has extensive background training from the National Tactical Officers Association. Chief Noel has also completed the Great Lakes Leadership Program sponsored by the FBI.

“It is an honor and a privilege to be chosen to lead this distinguished group of men and women,” says Chief Noel. “I am excited to begin this new venture and continue serving this great community.”

Chief Noel replaces former chief Paul Hartinger, who is retiring after joining the Blue Ash Police Department in 1989.

"It has been a pleasure serving the citizens of Blue Ash for the past 28 years.  I have thoroughly enjoyed being the chief of this department, and I know I leave it in good hands with Chief Scott Noel,” says Hartinger.
