Summit Park receives masonry award

March 9, 2017 -- Summit Park was awarded two distinctive awards from the Ohio Masonry Association for the TMI Annual Architectural Awards held on Wednesday, March 8th. The project received two of the highest honors: Excellence in Masonry Design and 2016 People’s Choice.

The primary material used at the park is Tennessee Crab Orchard stone, rare durable sandstone that is native to the middle Tennessee area. The stone is known for its rich variation of hues that cascade from beiges and grays to rose colored swirls left behind by iron, titanium, and magnesium. The park pavilion buildings are a combination of redwood and sandstone.

The award is the result of a collaborative partnership between the City of Blue Ash, MSA Architects, Jess Hauer Masonry, Turner Construction, and Lehigh / Essroc Cement.
