Chief Rick BrownRick Brown was appointed Blue Ash’s Fire Chief on September 2, 2004. He has been with the Blue Ash Fire Department since 1989, where he started as a firefighter/paramedic and promoted through the ranks. He has 30 plus years in the fire service and holds the following certifications in Ohio: Fire Safety Inspector, Firefighter II, Paramedic, Hazardous Materials Technician, and is a graduate of the Ohio Fire Executive Program (OFE). 

As Fire Chief, Rick leads a dynamic group of approximately 50 firefighter/paramedics, which respond out of two stations to all types of hazards such as fires, emergency medical calls, hazardous material releases and rescue situations. Chief Brown oversees all operations of the department which include Life Safety, Operations, Training and Public Education. His department conducts fire inspections and pre-plans annually in over 2000 businesses in Blue Ash. They respond to between 2,500 and 2,800 emergency calls a year. 

Professional memberships include the International Association of Fire Chiefs, National Fire Protection Association, Ohio Fire Chiefs, and Hamilton County Fire Chiefs Association.
