Our outdoor swimming pools are open from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day (click here for operating hours). The Olympic-size swimming pool (shown right) is heated, contains over 500,000 gallons of water. It reaches a depth of 13-feet in the deepest end (which is where the diving boards and lap swim lanes are located), and has two 145 foot dual twist tube water slides. Adult swim in the 3 dedicated lap lanes is conducted for 15-minutes at the top of every hour (during this time, anyone 17 and younger are not permitted in the pools). The Whale pool is a "zero depth" interactive water playground for children 6-years and younger. This pool is also heated and contains a variety of play features such as a water slide, spray toys and a cascading water fall. You need Adobe Reader to view our flyers. Click here for more information. DOGGIE DOO-ATHLON & FESTIVAL The Award Winning Doggie Doo-Athlon and Festival will take place on Labor Day, Monday, September 6, 2010. Come and join us for a friendly competition with your best friend in the Doo-Athlon or just come to the Festival to swim in the pool and visit pet-oriented retailers. SWIM LESSONS American Red Cross swim lessons are offered in three sessions every summer. With so many different levels of swim lessons that we offer, it can be a little confusing to know exactly what "level" to register yourself or your child. PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS If you're looking for that one-on-one instruction with a Certified Swim Instructor, Private Lessons are now available through the Recreation Center. Children must be at least 3 years old and privates can be taught in private or semi-private groups. Click here for information on finding a Certified Swim Instructor that is right for you! POOL EVENTS There are several special events that take place during the summer such as the Family Moonlight Swim and Ladies Luau. Details for 2010 events coming soon! LIFEGUARDING Our Lifeguarding Staff members are trained on a frequent and regular basis. In fact, they are some of the best lifeguards in the state, proven year-after-year at the American Red Cross Lifeguard Competition that is held at both city and state levels.
