FIRE SERVICES

The Fire Department firefighters are highly trained and dedicated to preserving the lives and property for the citizens in Blue Ash. They take pride in the firefighter's position, knowing the equipment and how to operate it on all the fire trucks.

The Blue Ash Fire Department is currently following the CodeRed®/Reverse 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone Calling System. This is an extremely high-speed communication service available for Emergency Notifications. This calling system can deliver pre-recorded emergency messages to homes and businesses at the rate of 60,000 calls per hour. Emergency Medical Services
Our ambulances are staffed with paramedics trained to provide pre-hospital care for victims with illnesses and/or injuries. Advanced Life Support treatment can begin within minutes of the paramedic’s arrival. The Blue Ash Fire Department has policies and procedures following the Privacy Regulations under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).

EMS Billing
EMS billing was implemented at the Blue Ash Fire Department beginning November 1, 2004. It was deemed by City Administration and Council to be in the best interest to initiate a program whereby appropriate charges would be imposed for transport services associated with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to recoup a portion of the cost to the City and its taxpayers. There will be no out-of-pocket fees to the residents of Blue Ash. However, the resident's insurance company will be billed for services and whatever payment is rendered is what will be accepted by the City. The resident may see a statement for services from their insurance company.

Our billing services are provided by Medicount Management, Inc. at 10361 Spartan Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45215. Medicount Management provides EMS billing services for several local fire departments in the area. • Smoke detectors (free to residents).
• Carbon Monoxide (CO) detectors for $15 with proof of residency.
• Blood pressure screening.
• Fire safety checks of residences and businesses.
• Fire extinguisher training for business and industry.
• BUSTR (underground storage tanks) delegated authority.
• Monitor fire lanes and issue citations to violators.
• Consult with building managers regarding safety procedures.
• Sponsor of Explorer Post 292.
• Explorers sell green reflective address signs ($15 each).
• Hazardous Materials response.
• Child passenger safety inspections (by appointment only for residents and employees within Blue Ash).
